Free Speech Watch|All civil liberties must be respected, even in times of national emergency, however, the Freedom of Speech afforded by the U.S. Constitution is arguably the most important. In these days of the so-called “Patriot Act” our free speech is constantly under serious attack. This website monitors the efforts to protect our free speech. It also monitors the People’s reaction to those efforts.

It should be protected by the first amendment of the US Constitution, in my opinion. “Congress shall make no law prohibiting freedom of the press,” it says in effect. In Keene, New Hampshire, however, a judge tried to abridge this right … This violates his sixth amendment right to a speedy and public trial. His disobedience continues. Unfortunately, it seems to me that government folks believe disobedience is the worst crime possible. Apparently it is punishable by life …
